"Cast iron diamonds"

Humanity has long appreciated the bright shine of diamonds, decorating with them not only jewelry, but also other household items. This tradition has not been spared and weapons. This is due to the fact that the diamond was considered a symbol of indestructibility. Most often, rough diamonds were inserted into weapons, as well as "chipped" stones or polished roses. In European countries, for the purposes of decorating weapons with diamonds, not only colorless and transparent diamonds were used, but also dark, to black and opaque, shiny stones. But diamonds, as they say, were not enough for everyone. And at the end of the 18th century, especially skillful artisans began to cut cast iron for decorative decoration of ceremonial weapons with inserts from such faceted "pebbles". Fortunately, the metallic luster of cast iron cuts resembled diamond. Later, faceted "cast iron" began to be inserted into inexpensive jewelry. This type of imitation of a diamond lasted until the end of the 19th century. In the twentieth century, cast iron jewelry inserts were replaced by natural pyrite cuts, which are widely used in inexpensive jewelry.

Currently, gemstones are produced by two fundamentally different technological methods - the High Pressure - High Temperature method (“HPHT”, High-pressure & High-temperature) and the Chemical Vapor Deposition (“CVD”, Chemical vapor deposition) method. The "HPHT" method is the most tested classical synthesis method, which can be used both carbon deposition on diamond from flux melts and catalytic reactions. In "CVD" synthesis, diamond growth occurs on a seed during carbon deposition mainly from a gaseous medium at relatively low temperatures and pressures.

Jewelry and precious stones are just such a category of goods, when buying which you need to pay attention to many criteria.

Sogdianite is a rather rare mineral and more often it can be found as a collection material (moreover, in systematic collections), and it is extremely rare in jewelry.
