Erythrin

We continue our story about colored stones used to make jewelry inserts. Erythrin is a water-containing cobalt arsenate, which has the property of limited solubility, and therefore products made from it are not recommended for wear. Due to its bright purple-pink color, erythrine is popular as a decorative collectible mineral that requires certain storage conditions, namely a darkened room, minimal humidity and limited air circulation in the storage volume. The same requirements apply to collection cuts (cabochons) made of erythrine. However, erythrin triplets do not require such harsh storage conditions, since the mineral in them is closed from environmental influences, which prevents its oxidation and dissolution. Such composite stones are widely used in the manufacture of jewelry. However, it should be noted that erythrin is rarely found in secretions suitable for making jewelry.

Currently, gemstones are produced by two fundamentally different technological methods - the High Pressure - High Temperature method (“HPHT”, High-pressure & High-temperature) and the Chemical Vapor Deposition (“CVD”, Chemical vapor deposition) method. The "HPHT" method is the most tested classical synthesis method, which can be used both carbon deposition on diamond from flux melts and catalytic reactions. In "CVD" synthesis, diamond growth occurs on a seed during carbon deposition mainly from a gaseous medium at relatively low temperatures and pressures.

Jewelry and precious stones are just such a category of goods, when buying which you need to pay attention to many criteria.

Sogdianite is a rather rare mineral and more often it can be found as a collection material (moreover, in systematic collections), and it is extremely rare in jewelry.
