Stone "lawns"

Sometimes in jewelry of the late 20th century, you can see inserts with small green crystals that have grown on a flat base, like grass in a flower bed. Such inserts are made by cutting out from fine-crystalline "brushes" an aggregate of uniform crystals of the same mineral type, grown on a flat or curved surface. As a rule, such "brushes" are green, and the mineral forming them is chrome garnet uvarovite, but sometimes there are also "brushes" made of emerald. Since the 1980s, a wide range of synthetic and artificial stones for jewelry and technical purposes has been produced in the Soviet Union, and at that time it was proposed to use for the manufacture of jewelry inserts such material as brushes of small crystals of synthetic emerald formed in reaction vessels as a by-product. ... Later, their experimental production was established. Nowadays, jewelry with synthetic emerald “brush” inserts is extremely rare. Now, on jewelry trading platforms, you can find beautiful designer jewelry not only with brushes of garnet-uvarovite, but also garnet-grossular, quartz-amethyst and quartz-citrine.

Currently, gemstones are produced by two fundamentally different technological methods - the High Pressure - High Temperature method (“HPHT”, High-pressure & High-temperature) and the Chemical Vapor Deposition (“CVD”, Chemical vapor deposition) method. The "HPHT" method is the most tested classical synthesis method, which can be used both carbon deposition on diamond from flux melts and catalytic reactions. In "CVD" synthesis, diamond growth occurs on a seed during carbon deposition mainly from a gaseous medium at relatively low temperatures and pressures.

Jewelry and precious stones are just such a category of goods, when buying which you need to pay attention to many criteria.

Sogdianite is a rather rare mineral and more often it can be found as a collection material (moreover, in systematic collections), and it is extremely rare in jewelry.
