Is it necessary to loosen (get the stone out of the product) for examination?

Of course, not necessarily.
Gemological examination can be carried out both for loose stones and for stones, which are inserts in jewelry. However, there are some nuances:
1. Clip stone. A very important role in the evaluation of stones in the product is played by the type of bartack, as far as it covers the stone. The more “deaf” the bar at the stone, the more likely the error of the obtained results of the examination.
2. Difference assessment. The client must also understand that the results of the evaluation of fixed stones and stones without a product may differ. So, for example, for diamonds, this difference may be 1 position in color and / or purity with its rasp setting.
3. Determination of the nature of origin. For the stone in the product, in most cases it is possible to determine the nature of the origin, but there are exceptions. For example, determining the origin of a defect-free amethyst or citrine, the optical axis of which is hidden by the lock, is rather difficult. The same applies to determining the nature of low-nitrogen diamonds.
4. High performance. This restriction applies to purely diamonds. Due to one or another influence of the metal of the product on the stone, there is a limit of the characteristics that it can get in the product. Therefore, if we are confronted with similar stones, we advise the client to turn to a jeweler for stone unpacking.

Currently, gemstones are produced by two fundamentally different technological methods - the High Pressure - High Temperature method (“HPHT”, High-pressure & High-temperature) and the Chemical Vapor Deposition (“CVD”, Chemical vapor deposition) method. The "HPHT" method is the most tested classical synthesis method, which can be used both carbon deposition on diamond from flux melts and catalytic reactions. In "CVD" synthesis, diamond growth occurs on a seed during carbon deposition mainly from a gaseous medium at relatively low temperatures and pressures.

Jewelry and precious stones are just such a category of goods, when buying which you need to pay attention to many criteria.

Sogdianite is a rather rare mineral and more often it can be found as a collection material (moreover, in systematic collections), and it is extremely rare in jewelry.
