Polychrome handsome - Fluorite

Fluorite is one of the most abundant minerals in the earth's crust, along with quartz, feldspars, calcite, and hydroxyl apatite.
It is widely used in industry as a flux additive, as a raw material for obtaining fluorine, as a valuable optical material, and also has many other applications, one of which is the use as a decorative and ornamental and jewelry and ornamental stone. Fluorite lends itself well to processing due to its characteristic low hardness (4 on the Mohs scale), but it is quite hard enough for the manufacture of interior decorations and a whole line of stationery, fluorite is also used for making beads and cabochons. Also, one of the properties of fluorite is viscosity, mainly for fine-spark-grained aggregates. But faceted fluorite is very rare. It does not have any outstanding properties, and its light dispersion has one of the lowest values of any gem that has ever been cut. Relatively large, bright and densely colored and at the same time pure fluorites are a welcome acquisition for collector cut lovers - it's all about its polychromy. Fluorite, like a number of other minerals such as apatite, tourmaline, quartz, corundum and diamond, has one of the broadest color gamuts in the mineral world.

Currently, gemstones are produced by two fundamentally different technological methods - the High Pressure - High Temperature method (“HPHT”, High-pressure & High-temperature) and the Chemical Vapor Deposition (“CVD”, Chemical vapor deposition) method. The "HPHT" method is the most tested classical synthesis method, which can be used both carbon deposition on diamond from flux melts and catalytic reactions. In "CVD" synthesis, diamond growth occurs on a seed during carbon deposition mainly from a gaseous medium at relatively low temperatures and pressures.

Jewelry and precious stones are just such a category of goods, when buying which you need to pay attention to many criteria.

Sogdianite is a rather rare mineral and more often it can be found as a collection material (moreover, in systematic collections), and it is extremely rare in jewelry.
