Rare gems of Russia - Yuksporit

In the world of stones, there are many minerals and rocks that are not widely known, but are a real rarity, both in gemology and in the world of mineralogy. One of these minerals is yuxporite. It forms matted fibrous aggregates with a delicate creamy pink color and a beautiful pattern. The only thing that yuxporite requires is the hands of a skilled craftsman who can reveal the texture pattern of a stone in a cabochon, as well as a jeweler who can play with the color and texture of the stone in a product and select stones that are in harmony with it. The mineral yuksporite was found by Ekaterina Evtikhievna Kostyleva-Labuntsova (1894-1974) in 1922 in the spurs of the Yukspor mountain, by whose name it received the name. Subsequently, the mineral was found in association with charoite in the metasomatites of the Murun alkaline intrusive complex (Olekma-Chara Upland) and in China in the Hanzhou province. However, finds of yuxporite suitable for use as a gemstone are quite rare. The most productive manifestation, allowing to extract jewelry and ornamental material of this mineral, is located on the territory of the Kirovsky mine allotment, near the "Sami" quarry. Due to its small size and low popularity, this mineral is little known in the jewelry market, while charoite, similar and related in genesis, is widely used in jewelry making.

Currently, gemstones are produced by two fundamentally different technological methods - the High Pressure - High Temperature method (“HPHT”, High-pressure & High-temperature) and the Chemical Vapor Deposition (“CVD”, Chemical vapor deposition) method. The "HPHT" method is the most tested classical synthesis method, which can be used both carbon deposition on diamond from flux melts and catalytic reactions. In "CVD" synthesis, diamond growth occurs on a seed during carbon deposition mainly from a gaseous medium at relatively low temperatures and pressures.

Jewelry and precious stones are just such a category of goods, when buying which you need to pay attention to many criteria.

Sogdianite is a rather rare mineral and more often it can be found as a collection material (moreover, in systematic collections), and it is extremely rare in jewelry.
