Lazulite

Yes, yes, we were not mistaken, it was lazLit, not lazRit. Despite the consonance of the names, these minerals differ from each other. Lazulite belongs to the class of phosphates and forms a series of isomorphic miscibility with another phosphate - scorzalite. The color of lazulite is from light blue to dark blue-green. The mineral itself is considered a rare gem and gemstone. In Russia, the most significant finds of lazulite are in the Polar and Subpolar Urals; it is also found in the Irkutsk region, Buryatia, Yakutia and a number of other regions of Russia. Lazulite mainly forms polycrystalline translucent aggregates, but there are also individual crystals. Crystals of lazulite from occurrences in Russia are used as collection mineralogical material. As a jewelry and ornamental stone, nodule formations with the size of lazulite grains from micro-grained to coarse-grained are used. In the world, China, Namibia, Zaire, Madagascar, India, Sri Lanka appear among the sources of jewelry and jewelry and ornamental lazulite, but the best samples of cut lazulite of blue color, sometimes with a green tint, come from the deposits of Brazil, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Lazulite is not used in industrial jewelry making. It can be found in designer items in the form of cabochons. Also, faceted transparent blue and blue-green stones can be an adornment of any collection of cuts of jewelry stones.

Currently, gemstones are produced by two fundamentally different technological methods - the High Pressure - High Temperature method (“HPHT”, High-pressure & High-temperature) and the Chemical Vapor Deposition (“CVD”, Chemical vapor deposition) method. The "HPHT" method is the most tested classical synthesis method, which can be used both carbon deposition on diamond from flux melts and catalytic reactions. In "CVD" synthesis, diamond growth occurs on a seed during carbon deposition mainly from a gaseous medium at relatively low temperatures and pressures.

Jewelry and precious stones are just such a category of goods, when buying which you need to pay attention to many criteria.

Sogdianite is a rather rare mineral and more often it can be found as a collection material (moreover, in systematic collections), and it is extremely rare in jewelry.
